Weekly Porsche Wrap

Porsche takes over Scania…or maybe NOT – Porsche made it’s minimum bid for Scania as required by law after it upped it’s holding of Volkswagon past the 50% mark. Even though it has indirect control of the Swedish truck maker, Porsche obviously has no strategic interest in acquiring the company. [Via MSNBC] Abu Dhabi Porsche […]

Porsche Keychain FINALLY Gets Put To Use

There used to be a store in a local mall that carried nearly every enthusiast accessory you could think of for cars. Keychains, leather goods, driving gloves, driving shoes, model cars, posters, signs, etc. You name it, they most likely had it. Back in the day (too long ago), that was one of my favorite […]

New Member of the PorschePerfect.com Family Has Arrived!

A pretty exciting day has arrived for me. The love affair with Porsche that started with a test drive in a white 944 when I was 15 resulting in a nearly 24 year pursuit of Porsche ownership, has finally culminated in a monumentous event: The purchase of a Porsche! After months of looking, numerous test […]

Could the Cayman Oust the 911?

I came across an interesting article today on The Independent in their Motoring section. Before I get into that though, why is it that the UK seems to have more motor enthusiasts, publications and general information per square inch of land than anyone else in the world? Guess bigger (as in the the size of […]

Memory Lane: Porsche Magazine Covers #3

This is the third post in my blast from the past found in an old box of magazines in my garage. It’s been fun to glance back through to see what was being reported 20 years ago in the car world and about Porsche specifically. Some great articles to re-read. If you want to catch […]

Used Porsche Prices Round 2

I’m still a little baffled at some of the prices I’m seeing for used Porsches. Especially older ones. Here’s a couple of examples: This is a 1982 911 with this as the ad: A very nice car. All has been rebuilt and upgraded. I would prefer to trade for property or Porsche 993. He’s asking […]

Finding the Oldest Known 901

I love a good story, especially when it involves a Porsche. A rare find, a labor of love, coming into the means to buy the latest model you’ve always dreamed of…I love em all. I find them inspiring and motivating. I recently ran across an article in an old European Car magazine about the oldest […]

Buy A House, Get A Free Porsche

So far it’s only the builders I’ve seen giving away free cars if you’ll buy one of their houses. One of the builders in my neighborhood was offering a free Toyota Prius if you purchased one of the new homes on the street. It must be working, because now we’re seeing other sellers jump on […]

928 GTS Owners Smokin Something???

Up until tonight, I couldn’t stop wondering what I was missing about 928 GTS models. There is one floating around on Portland Craigslist. It’s pictured above and is a 1993 928 GTS 5-speed. It was recently serviced and has 99,300 miles. Also has 12-way heated seats. I didn’t know you could heat your butt 12 […]

Funky 911 Camera Angles

This video is a little different than normal. I ran across it on YouTube and thought the camera angles were pretty cool and different than what you would normally see. It was shot using a Motorsports Hero Camera with a 170 degree wide-angle lens.
