Porsche 911 4S Pon Edition

Now this is a pretty awesome thing. I didn’t realize it, but Pon Porsche Import in the Netherlands was the first company to import Porsches. Their first Porsches arrived in 1949. The dealership in Leusden is still going strong today.

To celebrate 60 years of importing into the Dutch market, Porsche has released the 911 4S Pon Edition (I keep seeing Pong Edition when I read that…maybe they’ll make one for the 60 year anniversary of Pong).

The car will be based on the Coupe or Cabriolet versions and only 15 of them will be built. Features include diamond black metallic paint, black leather interior with gray accents, Bi-xenon headlights and the Sport Chrono Plus package. Also unique to the car is special badging on the doors and dashboard, and a new sports exhaust system.

Price for this 1 in 15 beauty? €188,261 including taxes or 247,186 smackers in the US.

I have to say, I’m becoming more and more of a fan of the matching colored wheels. Maybe it’s the new styles that lend themselves better to matching the body paint. When I was playing around with the car builders on Porsche’s site, I kept coming back to the matching colored wheels.

My wife always says “Everything doesn’t need to be matchy matchy” but maybe she’s wrong about that. At least when it comes to Porsches. Course I’m not going to tell her that.

  1. That one may be worth the $$$.
Color matching is the best look. I wonder if we’re going to look back 30 years from now and wonder what the hell we were thinking.

For instance… you know this was a HOT ride in its day:

  2. i would say it would be one of the more rare porsches abound. andrew i’ll just go out on a limb and say we will never think of this edition like the link you posted

  3. Wow, that car is ill.

  4. Im sure the 15 are already sold. Why 15? Why not 60? 1 for every year!!

  5. i’m sure they picked 15 just to make everybody wonder why only 15.

  6. I’m not to sure about the colored wheels unless it’s black on black… i’ve seen people rollin’ around with a red sports car with red wheels (i recently saw an Escalade with a new red paint job with red wheels) and needless to say it’s look awful… i don’t know…

What i DO know… Porsche makes a beautiful car!

  7. Never been a big fan of “blackout” look, although it doesn’t matter what you do to a porsche they are still amazing cars.

    Well I take that back…

  8. The blacked out cars look pretty cool I think. I wouldn’t want to see a million of them running around, but a few here and there is pretty sweet.

  9. This car is stunning. Price is silly but she’s beautiful.

  10. yes,price is quite a premium over a 911.way too much.

  11. more i look at it,the more i like it.

  12. like to see how it compares to a RUF.

  13. I agree with Jeff W in that the blackout look tends to look ok when its a rarity and the right car too!) If everything was treated to blackout….Probably would lose its appeal.

  14. easy to do too much.keep it simple.
