New Porsche 911 Turbo = AWESOMENESS!!!

Porsche revealed some specs on Friday about the new 911 Turbo they’ll be showing off at the Frankfurt Auto Show next month. The Porsche is going to be dang FAST with nearly 500 hp on tap ready to blast you from 0 to 60 mph in a mere 3.4 seconds. Hold on to your hat, but keep the pedal to the medal and you’ll scream up to 194 mph.

Gas-guzzler tax for us U.S.ites? Not a chance. It’s an economical ride giving it’s driver 24.8 mpg when equipped with the PDK gearbox.

Speaking of the PDK gearbox, you also get the three-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters. That’s pretty cool. The seven-speed dual-clutch transmission would be pretty sweet if you went with the PDK option.

As if all that isn’t enough, the new 3.8-liter flat-six engine has the cool new variable vane geometry incorporated into the turbocharger giving you a much broader range of boost, especially noticeable at lower rpm.

The new 911 goes on sale in Germany in late November.

  1. Oh man, Thats fainting material! You now should know Ryan that your latest poll will need to have one more option to check off..a 2010 911 Turbo. That is going to get heavily checked off after this post however!

That is amazing that all that power comes with incredible MPG. I especially like the advancement in the turbo that flattens out the power curve, Something you could only get in a supercharger ….up until now.! Leave it to Porsche engineers!

I could write 18 pages more talking about how this car looks. Simply awesome.

  2. oh my lord, what a photo to wake up to

  3. That. Looks. Amazing.

  4. The back is too humped for my liking
takes away from the smooth lines

  5. @Russ – I think Porsche humps it to make it a smooth line between the top when it’s up and the rear of the car. If you look at most convertibles there is a significant angle at the connection between the rag top and rear. My guess is that it is done to maximize windtunnel performance. I think the hump does look more significant than the current model though.

  6. i really like it – especially the color combo.

i see what russ means about the rear being too humped, or maybe even just truncated in length but i dont think it bothers me too much.
and may look more normal with a different angle.

  7. gosh, that it really nice. I’d prefer a coupe but
at this level I’m just splitting hairs. The silver/grey
(gunmetal) looks terrific with that interior color.
    Nice picture. Thanks again.

  8. I want one!

  9. Likes! Voted for this in the current poll…

  10. Now that is an awesome looking car. Just amazing.
