Solo Driver Porsche 911

Porsche Centro 911

Every so often you come across cars that make you wonder outloud…”Why?”. Recently 9 Magazine posted about just such a car. A single seater Porsche 911 Cabriolet. Yes, SINGLE seater. No rear seats. No passenger seat.

Not all that unusual you may be thinking, until you realize WHERE the single seat is placed. Smack dab in the middle of the car!

Strange cars such as the Porsche 911 with the whale penis skin treatment on the interior (Strangest Porsche Upgrade I’ve Ever Seen), and the gold plated Porsche Boxster (Weekly Porsche Wrap) came to mind when I saw pictures of this car. “Someone with whacked out whims and too much money” also flashed across my brain.

Centro 911 Porsche

The curious owner of the Center Drive Porsche 911 commissioned Trinity Motorsports to build the Centro 911. Shawn Bayliff at Trinity worked on the car for over a year to complete the modifications required to make this dream a reality.

The interior of the car looks to be exactly the same as a standard Porsche 911 Cabriolet, just with everything shifted to the right. A second car is supposedly in the works.

I have to wonder what this car would be like on the track. If set up properly, it’s gotta be a heck of a track star.

Here’s a video interview with the owner:

  1. The article states that it has no rear seats, but the video shows it having rear seats?

    • Tony, you’re absolutely right. I missed that. This may be the first Porsche 911 in history that could actually accommodate two adults in the rear seats!
