HIGH Mileage Porsche 911

Dwight over at Carsinpedia.com? (a site you should check out if you haven’t already) sent me a link to a Porsche 911 up for sale on Pelican Parts he found recently. It’s a 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (964).

Here’s the thing, it’s got 521,000 miles on it!

Sure it’s had a majority of it’s mechanicals rebuilt or replaced over the years, but that is a heck of a lot of mileage for a Porsche. Helps bolster Consumer Reports putting the Porsche Boxster at the top it’s list of cars with the most longevity (Porsche Boxster Tops List of Cars That Won’t Die).

Check out the LONG list of Major Repairs:

One of the interesting things to me about this car, which will likely be tough to sell due to the mileage, is the asking price. It’s up for $16,000. Personally I wouldn’t spend that much on it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone comes along and snaps it up for somewhere near the asking price.

  1. Hi,
I like this car very much. This overview contains useful information about the Porsche 911 sports car, including specs, model history and buying advice.
    Thanks
    Raj……….!

  2. Wow! That mileage is beyond impressive…..must have been part of a never-ending driving tour of America! It’s a testament to the durability of Porsche cars when treated with TLC! An important question to know would be how much has owner spent on the repairs listed….Anyone interested in buying this bad boy would need to be prepared financially for the potential on-slaught! Also, I wonder how many (if any) of those miles were spent on the track! I too would not pay 16k for it…I would save it and put it towards a used GT3!

  3. Thanks for sharing Ryan. It is amazing how nice this Porsche looks after 500,000 + miles. This really is a testament to the dependability of Porsche’s everywhere.

  4. I have to say I’m conflicted on this one. The mileage scares me without any mention of internal engine work. S13 servicing and rebuild costs are not to be taken lightly.

  5. This will make you think twice about a 911 with 100,000 miles on it.

  6. That’s alot of miles for sure, at the same time though I am sure theres gotta be someone out there that is impressed by the mileage number and buys it because of that, lol.

thank you SO MUCH for posting this! We are trying to price our 1988 911 to sale and couldn’t find any with mileage beyond ours! We have 237k and have never had any issues at all with it!!
