Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS – One Serious Twister!

Gemballa has done it again. Course I’m not surprised. After my 7 Days of Porsche Tuners series, I’ve gotten to thinking that tuners really should do more extreme stuff for their flagship vehicles. It’s just not enough to slap a few body mods on, change the ECU and charge twice the going rate for the vehicle. That’s one of the things that has always set Gemballa apart. They always seem to create these vehicular monsters that require time for your brain to process what your eyes are seeing.

You may remember I posted about the Gemballa Tornado 750 earlier this year. This is an even further upgraded GTS model that boasts 750 hp with 774 lb-ft of torque. Here are some of the mods:

  • Extensive exterior changes utilizing carbon-fiber bodywork saving weight, and improving aerodynamics and engine cooling
  • Increased the displacement of Porsche’s V-8 to 5.0L
  • Adjustable coilover setup
  • Huge 16.5-inch rotors with 6-piston calipers for braking
  • Lowered ride height by 2.75 inches
  • Lightweight 22-inch forged wheels
  • Extensive passenger compartment changes including sport seats all the way around, rear-seat entertainment components and leather, carbon fiber or aluminum trim
  • 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds
  • Top speed of 186+ mph

Bottom line….The Gemballa Tornado 750 GTS will BEAT (yes, I said beat) a Porsche 911 Turbo off the line to 60 mph! Based on Gemballa’s previous cars, I’m guessing this thing will sound much better than a stock 911 Turbo as well. I’d love to see the look on a Turbo owner’s face when this bad boy rolled up next to ’em at a stop light.

Convinced you want one? Better hurry. Gemballa is only going to build 50 of these bad boys. The great thing is they’ll only cost about $520,000 each (400,000 euros). A bargain compared to some of the other supercars out there.

I’ll say it again, just like I did the first time I saw this model. This is one Porsche Cayenne I could see myself driving!

  1. ummm yeeaaahh woooooow. i don’t have any words to describe this other than yes i’d like one. it is just plain wrong

  2. That’s so crazy that this car is faster off the line than the 911.

  3. It looks futuristic military. I think it may look better in black.

  4. Hold on kids, Mommy is late for an appointment!

  5. Man, I look at the front view pic and say what the heck is that? When you look from all sides it looks amazing and pretty much like everyone is saying, WOW. I hope to just see one of these in person some day. A little pricey for me now though.

  6. I like it – and some pretty amazing performance to boot!
But don’t tell me that doesn’t remind you just a little bit of the Mazda RX – at least around the wheel wells. 🙂

  7. i think the wheels really set off the look of the auto

  8. Last night I thought about these Tornado pics several times. I still can’t believe how awesome that looks. That is one sweet ride.

  9. For me, its all about the 4 exhaust pipes.

  10. Those tiered quad exhaust tips are pretty rowdy Jeremy. I like the flat-gray look of the paint too, although I think I would prefer flat-black.

  11. Janders says

Amazing vehicle – we’re not in Oz anymore Dorothy – love the Tornado!

  12. janders!!! that’s a classic comment!!!! i think ryan should give you 5 entries for the originality

  13. The view from the rear is pretty nasty. I love it.

  14. First of all I hate to say it but i think they ruined the looks of the car, however fast it may be. Also i think your stats are wrong because if the stats on this car are correct it cannot beat a 911 turbo off the line……..because the 997 turbo goes 0-60 in quite a bit less than 4, so that would be a bit quicker than the Gemballa’s 4.3 seconds.

  15. nice, but if I had that kind of money it wouldn’t be on a
    SUV.

  16. Not for me if i could afford that…i’d go for the 9ff
